>Noa is in NYC and having fun at the TEEN AUTHOR CARNIVAL

Noa is in NYC this week for BEA but first she had to check out the TEEN AUTHOR CARNIVAL. The TAC is an annual event started by three book bloggers in 2009. Originally created by the terrific trio to give readers a chance to connect with their favorite authors. The response from the literary community couldn’t have been any better with literary agents, marketing teams, best selling authors, debut authors in attendance as well as full support and donations from top publishing companies.

Hey all! So, what was the Teen Author Carnival like? Well, it was a lot of fun and it gave me a small taste of what to expect at BEA itself. I chose to attend two panels – one, on Kick Ass Females in YA: and Why it’s a Big Deal to Have Them and the second was Teenage Angst: Getting it Right – The Emotions, the Voice, the Drama. Signing post-panels Both panels were so much fun – I got there early enough to get a seat, yup, not everybody got a seat since the event was fully booked! First the moderators asked the authors a few questions and then they gave the audience a chance to ask questions.

I have to say, I’m not that well versed in YA authors, Tween Doll Desi usually lets me know which YA books I should pick up 😀 so this was a great opportunity for me to get to know the people behind the books. What can I say, they are awesome! Each and every one took time to answer the questions, they were funny – rolling in the aisles funny. I had such a blast. Then I got the shock (good one) of the evening when I met author of Feed and the October Daye series – Mira Grant/Seanan McGuire! She was absolutely lovely and I hope I get to see her again at the actual BEA signings and events.

After the panels the authors all signed their books (the library had the books on sale) and some authors also brought swag! (Yes my lovelies, there is swag for you!) More from me tomorrow! Happy Reading,
